Fetish Fair Fleamarket™
2/11-13/2011
Westin Hotel
Providence, RI
NELAonline.org

Only 17 more days left before Fetish Fair Fleamarket #36!

There are still rooms left at the Westin Providence that need to be booked! NELA knows that the Westin is not the cheapest option but as the Host Hotel, the Westin has put their reputation on the line for OUR community.

NELA has tried to keep the attendance cost as low as possible to allow you to be able to stay at the hotel.  So why not share a room with current or new friends and make your FFF experience more affordable.   Consider it a Valentine's Day gift to yourself, your friends, and your community.

Every room of the hotel needs to be booked and paid for.  We all know how wonderful a full-immersion conference experience can be: where you can be yourself, dress how you'd like and be playful with all your kink friends. That’s only possible when we take over the whole hotel.  To continue to make future NELA events possible

Please book now! Call (888) 778-6334 or book online at (https://www.mmxreservations.com/NELA/reservations)

If you have problems booking, please contact NELA right away at fffvendorcoord AT gmail dot com.

If you have made your reservation and your credit card has not been charged please check with the hotel as several credit cards were rejected when the hotel attempted to make a charge and those reservations have been discarded.

Hey folks --

The Winter Fetish Fair Fleamarket™ is just three weeks away (Valentine's Day weekend), and WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!!!

We're putting out ANOTHER call for volunteers to help us at the Flea. We need more help to put on the Flea! To everyone who's volunteered so far, we sincerely thank you; we look forward to seeing you all. For everyone else, we ask you to please consider donating some of your time and energy to help us make the FFF the best possible event it can be.

Volunteering is fun and generally pretty easy; a lot of it is simply helping to point people in the right direction, answering questions and helping with the various chores required to make the Flea run smoothly. For those who don't know, the Fleamarket is run entirely by volunteers, from the NELA Board of Directors on down. Every ID checker, wristbander, cashier, table attendant, door monitor, elevator  operator, classroom attendant, exit pollster, load-in and load-out worker -- every last one of them is a volunteer, which is the only way we can keep the cost of the Flea as low as it is (at $20 for the weekend, a lot lower than most multi-day kink events). It allows NELA to put on classes (both at the Flea and throughout the year), and to donate money to a wide range of charities and causes. It also means that NELA can better financially support The Network/La Red in putting on their annual Saturday night Masquerade, which raises funds for TNLR (check out http://www.thenetworklared.org/eindex.htm <http://www.thenetworklared.org/eindex.htm>  to learn more about their organization).

If you've volunteered in the past, please tell your friends about your experience and encourage them to volunteer as well.
And if you DO volunteer, in addition to knowing you helped put on one of the best events around AND supporting NELA in its mission of  education, advocacy and charitable giving, you'll receive other rewards for volunteering, such as FREE entry into the Flea, a NELA Associate's card, and possibly an invite to the Volunteers Appreciation Party. The more you volunteer, the more you receive!

The rewards program is as follows:

1 shift (2 hours) – FREE admission to FFF 34.
2 shifts (4 hours) - FREE admission to FFF 34, and a NELA Associates Card good for one year.
3 shifts (6 hours) - FREE admission to FFF 34, a NELA Associates Card good for one year, and a NELA t-shirt.
4 shifts (8 hours) - FREE admission to FFF 34, a NELA Associates Card good for one year, a NELA t-shirt, and FREE admission to the Volunteer party, and the chance to bring one guest for $10.
5 shifts (10 hours) - FREE admission to FFF 34, a NELA Associates Card good for one year, a NELA t-shirt, and FREE admission to the Volunteer party for yourself AND one guest, and the chance to bring up to two additional guests for $10 each.

If you're interested in volunteering, please check out this online (and completely work-safe) spreadsheet:

http://tiny.cc/FleaVolunteers

The spreadsheet has four pages, Friday Vols./Saturday Vols./Sunday Vols./Volunteer Job Descriptions. You can flip back and forth between
the pages by clicking on the tabs at the top of the page. Wherever there's a blank spot on the Volunteer Schedule is a spot you could help fill. We need load-in volunteers, volunteer lounge staff, food staff, NELA Associates and Sales table staff, ID checkers, wristbanders, elevator monitors, classroom monitors, exit pollsters, floor staff and more, across all three days; you can learn more about each job on the Volunteer Job Descriptions page.

Please note that the spreadsheet is read-only, and NOT designed for people to fill in shifts for themselves. If you'd like to sign up for one or more shifts, please email us with the day, times and duties at Nela.volsched@gmail.com

If the email address gets truncated in your email, it's: nela.volsched (at) gmail (dot) com.

We'll get back to you and confirm with you what shift(s) you're signing up for from that email.

Please  note that shifts are TWO HOURS OR LONGER in length – we CANNOT sign people up for single-hour shifts. So you could do a two-hour shift, or a three-hour shift, or two two-hour shifts, etc. – but no single-hour shifts, as it makes the schedule too hectic.

Now might also be a good time to subscribe to the NELA Volunteers yahoo group if you are not already a member:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NELAVolunteers

We're asking all of you to help, as the Flea depends on YOU. Please sign up to volunteer today!

Sincerely,

The NELA Volunteer Coordinators
